Things that aren’t the end of the world:

1. My new haircut, the shortest it’s ever been and not what I asked for.
2. My new braces, which don’t let me chew, make me have a lisp, and generally annoy me
3. Not updating this blog as much as I said I would
4. All the unfinished projects I have

There’s a lot worse things out there, and I should be happy and grateful that these are the tough things in my life (the new ones at least… overwhelming debt and poor health are still kicking.).

Perspective.

It’s no secret I love technology. Absurdly so. And the internet- I have a serious addiction there.

Well guess who is posting from her blackberry? Yup- this guy. So now you can read my random thoughts ANYWHERE.

And you love it.

I can’t keep up with all these changes, man! VIC work is almost done and *gasp* I’m actually digging it. Then I start in on super production for VIC two. (All clients are Very Important. With capitals)

Also, how cool is this? I want to do it… One day… when I have my own place… Even an apartment could do it.

So far I’ve preserved leaves, made pendants, batiked napkins, & painted pumpkins. Up next is Christmas, which is full of crafty goodness. One of them has been sitting on the desks of several co-workers since I got here, and beyond. 

It’s made from recycled greeting cards/Christmas card/photos/anything you want. And it’s adorable. I can’t wait to make my own and fill the bowl I just bought on Etsy from peacockmodern with it.

Also, I’ve been wireframing a new version of my blog. Here is a sneak peak.

New color scheme… I don’t know how I feel about it. I want a cleaner but not boring design overall. So it’s time to tweak with positioning and not just colors…

I also want to learn about the things I can really do with this… Sigh. One more thing to the list of Shit I Need To Do.

I know, I know! I had grand plans for updating, then life smacked me in the face with a floppy, wet trout. That smelled of client work, instead of personal work.

But I have been stacking up projects to do! So that’s good, right? And I love my VIC sort of a lot. They’re like “dude. our website is fucked up.”

It totally is.

I’m totally going to fix it! … with help. Lots of help. And maybe some cookies from Becky, my favorite PM.

So, back to projects! I already have the pattern cut out on fabric, AND the pieces pinned for these:

I just need to find the time to drag the sewing machine to a useable space. And then, I’m thinking it won’t be too hard to make my own pattern for this:

But wait to laugh at that comment until I actually make it. I thought it wouldn’t be hard to make (and I will re-make) that car catch-all, but it was a disaster! I will post the results when I am happy with them.

Also I was thinking of adding wings to the birds? I’ll see how I feel. Maybe make a few with and a few without.

So number 81 is going to be… late. Because someone is apparently in high demand right now! (That someone is me)

How about “have twenty minutes to focus on any one task”? Like just now I was interrupted. And have to work! Bye!

I read a lot of blogs. And a lot of blogs have contests. And just like the Ingrid Michaelson concert and cool co-op contests of the past, I have entered and won. This time it was a Threadless t-shirt, won by guessing what Josh Spear keeps in his bag. (OTC pills was all me- gee I wonder why i guessed that…)

I found this one last night at Ikea. It’s right next to where I bought these tea light holders. And then dropped them on my driveway as soon as I got home.

Lucky thing is, they only cost 1.99. So. Not so much money down the tubes. But, anyway, I thought these colors looked very interesting. I’m a sucker for that green. And the pink and cream is nice, while the red and black were a little more unexpected.
